Breathing -How to reduce stress and tension

Belly breaths
– Relaxation

Find a comfortable seat with good posture or laying down
Or legs up the wall

Gently breathing into the belly, fill up the ribs then up to the collar bones

Exhale from the collar bones, empty the ribs, then empty the belly

Continue breathing like this and extend your inhale and increase your exhale with each breath, make them long and slow.

Feel your rib cage expand, and the intercostal muscles between your ur cage , stretch and glide.
Create space with your breath in your spine in between your vertebrae.
This method of breathing, belly breaths will allow you to slip into your parasympathetic nervous system which is your rest and digest nervous system.

We spend so much time in our daily life in our fight and flight and freeze which is our sympathetic nervous system we lack adequate sleep , we lack the ability to be present, to have deep connection, adequate sleep, clarity, we lack the ability to gently respond, rather we react and we are stressed and we are overwhelmed, all the time. Life is hard.

Taking the time and giving yourself permission to have simply two minutes, or five minutes of this time to just sit and breathe at any time of the day will educate your mind and your body how to drop in to this ‘rest and digest’ this parasympathetic nervous system.

This education will allow your body the time it needs to heal to recover to reset to allow your brain to function optimally, and for you to think clearly and to have clarity to make better decisions, and to respond kindly and nicely with a lot of thought and care.

You cannot perform well in daily life when you are running on adrenaline.

Let’s take the time to sit and breathe and create good habits for our mind and body.

This is a critical lesson for us.

The more you practice this, the more you will be able to switch off from stressful times and drop straight in to rest and digest without hesitation. Your world and your life will improve significantly.
Your attitude and the attitude of people around will shift.
You’ll see.

Can you give yourself the permission to slow down? Even for 2-5mins?
